Beach Volleyball

Competition events include Men’s and Women’s divisions.

The competition will be conducted in two phases:

Phase 1: Teams will be divided into 6 single round-robin pools and those that do not advance directly to the next round will take part in play-offs.

Phase 2: The 16 qualifiers will compete in knockouts until medal winners are determined.

Rules:

A match is played by 2 teams of 2 players. Each team is allowed a maximum of 3 hits, including the block touch, to return the ball to the opponent’s side of the court.

A match is played in a best-of-three format. The first two sets are played to 21 points and the deciding third set is played to 15 points. In each set, a team must win with a minimum lead of 2 points. In the case of a 20-20 tie in the first two sets and 14-14 tie in the decider, the set continues until a two-point lead is reached.
