Volunteer Programme
To facilitate the smooth operation of Hong Kong events of the 15th National Games (NG), the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG), we are organizing a volunteer team with passion and efficiency. During the competition events, mass participation events and relevant mega events, volunteers will provide an array of services, including reception services upon arrival and departure, spectator services, guest reception, crowd control, transport and logistics, catering management, as well as presentation ceremony support. The first round of volunteer recruitment, which was conducted from July to September 2024 in Hong Kong, has successfully received over 30 000 applications. The second round of recruitment, which was conducted from October 2, 2024 to November 15, 2024 targeting youths aged between 15 and 17, has attracted nearly 2 000 youth applicants.
The number of applicants for the Volunteer Programme has far exceeded expectations, echoing our slogan, “Let’s Volunteer for the National Games”. The interviews and selection process for the first round volunteer recruitment were officially concluded in January 2025. Over 18 000 applicants have been selected and extended offers of “Provisional Volunteer Leaders” or “Provisional Volunteers”. Some “Provisional Volunteer Leaders” and “Provisional Volunteers” have been invited to participate in test events starting from mid-February as part of their training. The first Volunteer Leader Training session was held in late March, followed by generic training for all "Provisional Volunteers" commenced in April, including online and physical modules. Selected Volunteers will be officially appointed after satisfactory completion of training, subject to their performance in test events. Latest information will be released on the online Volunteer Management System and monthly e-Newsletter to selected volunteers.
As for the second round of youth group volunteers recruitment, selection results will be released to applicants via their groups or schools in mid-2025.
